"Hope will bring you home" (Christmas Song)

"Hope will bring you home"

It’s Christmas time and we’re far from home the memories flood our mind
We remember times of long ago friends and family one of a kind
The laughs, the gifts, and the mistletoe we all had so much fun
Those years are gone, we’re far from home, and we’re feeling all forlorn

Chorus
Yes, hope will bring you home to be with family who are dear
Hope will kindle hearts just like a loving flame that’s clear
Hope will push us on through the snow or through the rain
Hope will keep us together to bring us back home again

Christmas day is finally here, mum was busy all day long
I could hear her singing carols prepped the dinner to a song
We opened gifts had lots of fun and made a lot of noise
Thank you dear old Santa Clause for giving us all those toys

Chorus
Yes, hope will bring you home to be with family who are dear
Hope will kindle hearts just like a loving flame that’s clear
Hope will push us on through the snow or through the rain
Hope will keep us together to bring us back home again

Christmas is for everyone family, friends, and kin
Regardless of religion if we love them we all win
Just embrace, those, you love the most, just hold them, and be kind
Let’s sing a song together, let’s sing for “Auld Lang Syne”

Chorus
Yes, hope will bring you home to be with family who are dear
Hope will kindle hearts just like a loving flame that’s clear
Hope will push us on through the snow or through the rain
Hope will keep us together to bring us back home again

I reminisce of the turkey, potatoes, cranberry, stuffing too
The aroma of the baking all my dreams of seeing you
The Christmas tree is all aglow with tinsel, lights so bright
It illuminated Christmas day it was such a beautiful sight

Chorus
Yes, hope will bring you home to be with family who are dear
Hope will kindle hearts just like a loving flame that’s clear
Hope will push us on through the snow or through the rain
Hope will keep us together to bring us back home again (X2)

“An Ode to my spouse….if only I were a Colour T.V.” (An analogy)

“An Ode to my spouse…if only I were a Colour T.V.
(An analogy)

First of all, you would always turn me on, first thing in the morning, during the day and late at night.
You would never turn me off.
Depending on what buttons you pressed, you could make me, increase, or decrease my volume.
You would always be interested in me, no matter what was on.
You would always see me as interesting and colorful.
You could change me anytime you wanted, depending on what you wanted to see.
In your eyes, I would have lots of variety and flair; you would have lots of me to choose.
Whether I was big or small, I would give you lots of pleasure.
You would idolize and adore me.
I would be your companion for many hours.
Anytime, day or night, you would want to be with me.
Nothing would be able to take you away from me.
No distractions could stop you looking at me.
I would captivate your heart and soul.
You would sit down and have snacks with me.
You would never take your eyes off of me.
No matter if anyone else was talking to you, your eyes would still be fixed on me.
You would instantly see various parts of me at the touch of your hands.
By pressing the right buttons, you would just fall in love with me.
You would be glaring at me all night never taking your eyes off me for a second.
Even if I didn’t appear to be that interesting, you would be so attracted to me.
You would stay up until midnight or one in the morning, just knowing that you were having fun.
At the click of a button, you would record me for hours and hours.
There is a “Remote” chance; we could even have a relationship.
If only I were a Colour T.V.

"He was born in Bethlehem" (Christmas Song)

"He was born in Bethlehem"

It was a starry night so long ago when the angel first appeared
He proclaimed to the shepherds now listen and do not fear
I bring you joyful news this day as the angels burst into song
Glory to God in the highest your Saviour today is born

Chorus
He was born in Bethlehem on that Christmas day
The star shone on the stable as He slept upon the hay
Emmanuel was His name He was sent from heaven above
Jesus came amongst His own He was given out of love

The brightest star in the sky would guide them on their way
Singing and shouting as they went peace on earth today
Let’s all go to Bethlehem to see this wonderful thing
Hosannas rang throughout the air as the crowd began to sing

Chorus
He was born in Bethlehem on that Christmas day
The star shone on the stable as He slept upon the hay
Emmanuel was His name He was sent from heaven above
Jesus came amongst His own He was given out of love

Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty Prince of Peace
Everlasting Saviour His Kingdom to increase
Emmanuel our God’s with us to walk on common ground
Unto us a child is born His love was so profound

 Chorus
He was born in Bethlehem on that Christmas day
The star shone on the stable as He slept upon the hay
Emmanuel was His name He was sent from heaven above
Jesus came amongst His own He was given out of love

"I cannot play ‘Guitar’ but I sure can write the words" (Song)

"I cannot play ‘Guitar’ but I sure can write the words"

I try to play guitar but it’s always out of tune
When you hear me play you will think I am a goon
I cannot play the chords or read music that’s quite clear
“Cause when I play guitar I can only play by ear

Chorus

We’re not always gifted in the things that we like best
Even though we try to play just give it a rest
It’s not what we’re supposed to do it’s proven to be true
You’re talented at something else this is not for you

As I thought, that I was talented I played a little more
However, after a while, my ear was feelin’ sore
It started to hurt when I reached the higher notes
I thought that I should give it up and say “Adios”

Chorus

We’re not always gifted in the things that we like best
Even though we try to play just give it a rest
It’s not what we’re supposed to do it’s proven to be true
You’re talented at something else this is not for you

I thought that I should try, something else for awhile
I just don’t have the talent, as this is not my style
You’ll think that this is ludicrous and find it quite absurd
I’ll stick to being a lyricist and just write down the words

Chorus

We’re not always gifted in the things that we like best
Even though we try to play just give it a rest
It’s not what we’re supposed to do it’s proven to be true
You’re talented at something else this is not for you
Yes, you're talented at something else this is not for you
