"Tender Mercies" (Song)

"Tender Mercies"

Im a wanderer a transient, trying to find my way
Im going in the wrong direction; Im trying not to stray
You see dear Lord Im feelin lost got off the beatin track
Help me Lord and guide my feet help me Lord come back

Chorus

Tender mercies Tender mercies theyre flowing down to me
I feel your presence in my heart its evident to see
The loving warmth comes from your heart it dwells inside my soul
Take my life and use me Lord Take complete control

The anxious thoughts come through my mind I think theyre here to stay
Ive tried so hard to rid them all it helps me when I pray
The torment dwells to make me feel how low that I can be
Help me Lord please clean my mind please help to set me free

Chorus

Tender mercies Tender mercies theyre flowing down to me
I feel your presence in my heart its evident to see
The loving warmth comes from your heart it dwells inside my soul
Take my life and use me Lord Take complete control

"Sitting under the neon sign" (Song)

“Sitting under the neon sign”
Staying at home was all I had; I always thought that it stunk
So I thought I’d take a hike and leave, and I got really drunk
I was glad to get away from my old man; all he ever did was moan
I said I can’t handle it anymore; I’m going out on my own

I was sitting in the café all alone; wasn’t much of a thrill
I lifted my head and looked across, I saw a beautiful girl
She looked at me and gave a smile, and then a little wave
I was going to head over and talk to her, but I just wasn’t just that brave

Chorus
Here I am in the big bright city under the neon sign
It tells me now what life’s about that everything will be just fine
It sends a message to my soul you have to keep pushing on
I’m sitting under the neon sign not knowing what’s going on

I’m sitting under the neon sign trying to snort some coke
Not the kind that you drink, but the one that makes you boke
I’m flyin’ high as a kite, my head’s just a spinnin’ round
I know that I’m not in control I’m gonna’ hit the ground

I thought that smoking, drink and drugs was the way to go
But when I’m finished and all shot up, I feel worse than before
The neon sign told me so that life was so much fun
But ever since I’ve touched the stuff I’m always on the run

Chorus
Here I am in the big bright city under the neon sign
It tells me now what life’s about that everything will be just fine
It sends a message to my soul you have to keep pushing on
I’m sitting under the neon sign not knowing what’s going on

I’m lonely as can be you know, and I’m looking for a friend
I have to find one pretty soon, or I’m going round the bend
My heart you know is heavy and it’s feeling like a stone
I miss my mum and dad you know so I’m just a going home

I think I’ll bust that neon sign for all the bad advice
The things that I’ve been doin’ now, is of my own devise
I’m heading in the wrong direction all I ever do is roam
But I think I’ll call my mum and dad ‘cause I’m just a going home

Chorus
Here I am in the big bright city under the neon sign
It tells me now what life’s about that everything will be just fine
It sends a message to my soul you have to keep pushing on
I’m sitting under the neon sign not knowing what’s going on
I miss my mum and dad you know, so I’m just a going home

"The element of surprise and hopelessness" (Message)

“The element of surprise and hopelessness”

What is the element of surprise?

The element of surprise is, when you’re traveling on a plane, cruising at an altitude of 35,000 feet and the pilot announces that the aircraft is having engine problems.

So what does hopelessness have to do with it?

Hopelessness is when the pilot announces again, that the aircraft has lost all its power. You look out the aircraft window and realize that you’re flying over a mountain range.

You know, that within a few minutes, the plane will ultimately crash into the mountains, now, that’s hopelessness.

As the aircraft starts to plummet and spiral toward the rugged mountains, which are getting closer by the second, in spontaneity, everyone starts screaming.
The atheist shouts out “Oh my God, we’re all going to die”, having absolutely no hope at all for an eternity with God.
With the few minutes that remain and with loved ones who are together on the plane, huddling, cuddling, and crying together.
The aircraft is now violently shaking and instantly everyone is traumatized by the turbulence that they are now experiencing.
Pandemonium breaks out inside the plane and fear is gripping everyone.
In contrast to the atheist who shouts out “Oh my God, we’re all going to die”. (I hope you see the humour in that statement.)
The Christian is praying, “Dear God, please deliver us from the impending danger, whatever happens Lord, take our soul to be with you, let our spirit Lord be instantly in your presence.”
The inevitable happens, and upon impact, the plane disintegrates and bodies are mangled or obliterated, but within seconds of impact, the plane is engulfed in a molten towering inferno, within a few seconds everyone is cremated at the same time, it’s as if no one ever existed, they are instantly sent into oblivion.

Now, that’s hopelessness.

"Knocking on Heaven's door" (Song)

“Knocking on Heaven’s door”

Here I am Lord I’m calling you ‘cause I don’t know what to do
Open the door to my heart please give me Lord a brand new start
I hope you don’t mind or get too bored every time I knock on your door
But here I am Lord once again I’m knocking on Heaven’s door

Chorus

Here I am Lord once again I’m knocking on Heaven’s door

Here I am once again I’m always looking for more

I’m struggling once again I’m feelin’ just a little more pain

So here I am Lord once again I’m knocking on Heaven’s door

I know for sure that you know who is always searching looking for you
As time goes by things are looking as they should my life is looking pretty good
But all of a sudden when things go wrong and I know that I’ve lost my song
But here I am Lord once again I’m knocking on Heaven’s door

Chorus

Here I am Lord once again I’m knocking on Heaven’s door

Here I am once again I’m always looking for more

I’m struggling once again I’m feelin’ just a little more pain

So here I am Lord once again I’m knocking on Heaven’s door

One day as I approached your throne I thought I heard a Heavenly groan
You turned to Jesus here we go he’s going to tell me what I already know
He gets up from His chair just to show me that He really cares
Opens the door to see who’s there as I’m knocking on Heaven’s door

I said it’s me O’ can’t you see I know that I have been set free
But today I need to talk to you, you know I’m feelin’ just a little blue
Jesus said come on in I want to know just how you’ve been
It’s okay to come each day to knock on Heaven’s door

 Chorus

Here I am Lord once again I’m knocking on Heaven’s door

Here I am once again I’m always looking for more

I’m struggling once again I’m feelin’ just a little more pain

So here I am Lord once again I’m knocking on Heaven’s door
